Year 1 Victories
Year 1 Victories
In my first year serving as your Assemblywoman, my focus has been simple: deliver results for rural Northern California. From strengthening public safety to securing critical funding for our communities, my team and I have worked every day to make sure our region is heard and represented in Sacramento.
Legislative Wins
-
Six bills signed into law by the Governor, strengthening rural emergency response, supporting small businesses, protecting workers, improving education pathways, and increasing resources for first responders.
-
Passed the first pro–Second Amendment bill in over 20 years, earning recognition as California Rifle & Pistol Association Legislator of the Year.
-
Advanced policies supporting parental rights, public safety, wildlife conflict solutions, and rural economic development.

Serving AD1
-
Opened district offices in Redding and Jackson, helping thousands of residents navigate state agencies and access services.
-
Traveled more than 50,000 miles across the district to remain accessible, responsive, and present in every county.
-
Strengthened partnerships with local governments, agencies, and community leaders to deliver practical solutions for our communities.
-
Focused extensively on wildfire recovery, infrastructure needs, economic development, and expanding access to essential services.

Delivering Funding for the District
We secured critical funding and policy victories that directly support families, schools, and local economies across the region:
-
$65 million in tax exemptions for 2021–2024 wildfire settlement funds, helping families rebuild without unexpected tax burdens.
-
$10 million for the Karuk Fire Resiliency Center.
-
$70 million for the Sierra Nevada Conservancy and Tahoe Conservancy to support wildfire mitigation.
-
$2 million to support ranchers facing verified wolf-related livestock losses.
-
$20 million for Plumas County schools.

Federal Funding Advocacy
Through direct advocacy with federal partners, we also helped secure major funding for rural California:
-
$43 million annually for Secure Rural Schools funding for California, with approximately 60% benefiting Assembly District 1, along with retroactive payments for counties for the past two years.
-
$128 million in restored funding for California Head Start programs.
