About Heather

Heather was raised in the small town of Dorris in Siskiyou County. Heather's love story with her high school sweetheart, Bryon, culminated in marriage in 2003. Together, they are raising two handsome boys named Sam and Zack while managing their family farm in Modoc County. Their farm boasts a variety of crops, including hay, vegetables, pumpkins, and highland cattle. As a matter of fact, they are the only ones organizing the County's Pumpkin Patch every fall.
Heather has had her fair share of struggles growing up. Her mother worked tirelessly to provide for their family, and Heather worked hard to put herself through college. She pursued her passion for Agriculture Science by attending Shasta College and Chico State, where she earned her degree. In 2016, Heather completed her Master's Degree in Leadership & Management, proving her prowess in the field.
With firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by our education system, Heather has served as an elementary and high school teacher. She currently teaches a Public Safety Class at Modoc High School and has also worked as the County 4-H Coordinator through UC Davis. Heather's confidence and expertise in her field make her a valuable asset to the community.
Heather is a small business owner who understands the challenges of running her own business, having previously owned a local newspaper. She believes that the government should make it easier for small businesses to start and operate, as well as create more well-paying job opportunities.
In her previous role, Heather served as the Deputy Director of Modoc County's Office of Emergency Services at the Sheriff's Office for almost 5 years. As the Public Information Officer, she played a crucial role in organizing evacuations in response to wildfires and floods, coordinating support, managing recovery efforts, and assisting with neighboring wildfires such as the Bootleg, Dixie, and McKinney fires.

Heather is a dedicated service-oriented individual who has always been passionate about volunteering her time. She is involved in numerous organizations and has held various leadership positions such as President of a local school board, children's church pastor, and a church planter. Additionally, she coaches the Modoc Youth Shooting Team and serves on the CA Youth Shooting Sports Association Board, PTO, Cubmaster, little league coach, Alturas Chamber of Commerce, Ducks Unlimited, and Modoc Vineyard Church.
Heather is currently running for office to represent the people of Northern California and ensure that their voices are heard in Sacramento.
